After installing the driver and connecting your tablet to your computer, you're now ready to open your drawing or writing software. Well, not quite. You may adjust some driver settings to maximize your tablet performance and usage. This article will help you understand the different parts of your tablet driver and their functions.
Pen Tablet or Pen Display
- Press Key
By default, your tablet's press keys are set to Adobe Photoshop's shortcut keys. So, if you use a different drawing or writing program with different shortcut keys, you may need to configure the buttons depending on your software's keyboard shortcuts.- Enable Press Keys - enable this to use your tablet buttons or press keys. Disabling or unchecking this will result in your tablet buttons not functioning.
- Enable Soft Keys - this feature is available for graphic tablets with soft keys. You can enable this and use your pen to tap your tablet's soft keys to perform the functions you assigned to these soft keys.
- Dial Setting - this feature is only available for graphic tablets with dial, KD100, and KeyDial Mini (K20). You can refer to this article on "How to Set Up & Use the RaDial mode on Huion Inspiroy Dial Q620M and Mini Keydial KD100?". Other times, the "Enable Dial" option is also available, and unchecking this option will result in your dial not functioning. You can set your dial to perform the following:
- Default - zoom in/out, adjust brush size, and scroll up/down. Just press the center of the dial to switch between these functions.
- Multimedia - choose this if you want your dial to move between multimedia files or adjust the volume settings.
- Customize the Feature - you can set the keyboard shortcut to your dial to perform your desired function.
- None - choosing this means nothing will happen when you turn your dial in either direction.
- Working Area
An option to use "All Displays" is only available for graphic tablets. If you have a tablet display, you can only choose one of the displays. It is recommended to select your tablet display and assign a button to "Switch Screen" to switch between different displays or your other monitors/screens.- Work Area Options
- Full Area - default (recommended, especially on tablet displays)
- Screen Ratio - most monitors have a 16:9 ratio. However, some monitors are widescreen, so choosing this will follow your monitor's screen ratio.
- Custom Area - choose this and adjust which part of your screen your tablet will work on.
- Monitor Calibration- only available on tablet displays
- Manual - click the red dots using your pen as precisely as possible.
- Restore Default - use your mouse to click this button to restore the calibration to default.
- Cancel Calibration - use your mouse to click this button to cancel the calibration.
- Rotation Settings
- 0 degree - default
- 90 degrees
- 180 degrees - suitable for left-handed users

Digital Pen
- Press Key is where you can set the functions of your 2 pen buttons and your pen nib settings (valid or invalid). Setting your pen nib to invalid would disable it from functioning. More explanations on these settings are below:
- Enable Windows Ink - only on Windows drivers. Enable this to allow Windows Ink functionality, a Windows software suite in Windows 10 and above that makes your computer work with a pen device.
- Mouse Mode - the digital pen behaves like a mouse where the pen's location on the tablet's surface is not relative to that on the screen/monitor.
- Game Mode - reduces the error caused by pressure sensitivity needed for certain games.
- Pressure Sensitivity Adjustment
- Pressure Sensitivity Adjustment - adjust the pen pressure sensitivity. You can refer to this article: What do blue, yellow, and red squares mean, respectively, in Pressure Sensitivity Adjustment in the driver? What do the X-axis and Y-axis represent?
- Pressure Test - the area where you can test your pen pressure sensitivity.

Then, after reinstalling the driver, click the "Import" button and locate your exported file. On the other hand, you can click "Default Setting" to set it back to default. - General
